SIMON & GARFUNKEL-SOUNDS OF SILENCE.

Paul Simon-lead vocals, guitar.
Art Garfunkel-lead vocals.
Glen Campbell-guitar.
Hal Baine-drums.

In 1955, they started out out as Tom & Jerry and in 1957 had a minor hit"Hey, Schoolgirl"

In 1965 as Simon & Garfunkel with their close and pristine vocal harmonies they had a hit single with "The Sound of Silence" which was featured in the film "The Graduate"

This is their second album and was recorded in 1966 under the CBS label.

Their lyrics are pop-poets styled and music- acoustic/electric folk rock music.

My fave song are "The Sound of Silence" and "Richard Cory"

Side One: 1. The sounds of silence 2. Leaves that are green 3. Blessed 4. Kathy's song 5. Somewhere they can't find me 6. Angie.

Side Two: 1. Richard Cory (video) 2. A most peculiar man 3. April come she will 4. We've got a groovy thing goin' 5. I am a rock.

I like the title track. Unbeknownst to S&G, producer Tom Wilson overdubbed the original acoustic version with drums, bass and electric guitar and turned it into a big hit.
